In 1951 the club eventually succeeded in obtaining the first Bath CS Sports ground at the top of Bathwick Hill. The then Admiralty CC played the first cricket match onthe ground on 24th June 1951 and beat Calne by eight wickets. The club moved to a new ground at Claverton Down Road in 1970 to make way for development of the University of Bath.

A Somerset League was started in 1973 with 16 founder clubs including Bath CS. In 1994 on being relegated from the Premier division, the club joined the more 'local' Wiltshire League, initially in Division 2.

"You Never Had It So Good"

Maurice Tremlett benefit match 10th June 1956.In 1953, 1956 and 1957 the club staged Benefit matches for popular Somerset professionals, Bertie Buse, Maurice Tremlett and Harold Stephenson.

Tremlett, an England player and the first professional captain of Somerset, brought players from both Somerset and Kent for the match.

After a sensational start by Bath CS the class and experience of the opposition (202-8w) soon asserted itself and it was only the intervention of rain that saved Bath CS (38-5w) from defeat.
